PTFE microporous garment film
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) garment film is made of PTFE as raw
material by special technology. After calendering, extrusion and
biaxial stretching, the micro-porous film is first made, and then
the film is compounded with viscose on various specifications of
textile fabrics to form PTFE composite fabrics. The secondary

Its performance is as follows:
1. Waterproof performance
Waterproof means that the water on the outside of the fabric will
not penetrate the fabric and soak into the inside. PTFE laminated
composite fabrics are waterproof even under 80 lb/m2 pressure.
People will not feel wet even if they stand in the storm and sit on
the wet surface. The main reason why the fabric garment has such a
magical function is that the micropore diameter of PTFE film is
1/5000-1/20000 of the diameter of water droplets, so even the
smallest raindrops can not pass through. The surface energy of PTFE
is low, and the water droplets can not spread on the film to
prevent the water droplets from penetrating.
2. Moisture permeability:
The average pore size of PTFE film is 0.2 um. The pore size of PTFE
film is 700 times larger than that of water vapor molecule. Water
vapor molecule can pass freely.
3. Windbreak Performance
During the stretching process of PTFE film, microporous structure
is formed, which connects the nodes with numerous microfibers.
Pores are formed between microfibers. Pores are connected with each
other to form a unique network structure. Wind can not pass
directly, encounter obstruction will change direction, effectively
prevent air penetration, so it has excellent windproof performance.
4. Warmth retention
PTFE film has excellent moisture permeability. It can transfer the
vapor discharged from human body to microclimate in time, prevent
the vapor from condensing into liquid water, and reduce the
possibility of water conducting heat. Although the surface of the
film is dense with a large number of micro-holes, the wind can not
penetrate, effectively preventing air convection. The test results
show that the warmth retention effect of PTFE composite fabric is
30-40% higher than that of traditional down jacket in 25 m/s gale.
5. Biochemical Performance of Nuclear Protection
PTFE thin films have smaller pore size (average pore size is 0.2
um), which prevents the penetration of some toxic gases or
aerosols. Low surface can prevent the penetration of some toxic
liquids. The material with high water vapor flux without pore is
coated on one side of the film to realize the selective permeation
of water vapor and achieve the purpose of complete protection. The
