Industry flue gas CO2 recovery plant

1、Scope of applications

Flue gas normally means the off-gas with high temperature and low concentration of CO2 discharged by power plant, boiler factory, lime kiln, cement plant and etc. during burning of coal, gas, fuel oil or heating.
Flue gas contains 8-35% CO2. By taking advantage of specialized absorbent’s properties of absorbing CO2 at normal temperature and emitting CO2 at high temperature, we use absorbent solution for circulating absorption of CO2 from the flue gas and desorption of it with flue gas heat, thusly achieving the target of CO2 concentration and recovery. After the concentration section, CO2 will go through adsorption, drying, cooling, heat exchange and then be sent to the rectification tower for rectification. After removal of such impurities as sulfur, saltpeter, oxygen, nitrogen, water vapor and etc., CO2 will be stored in the storage tank for user’s utilization.

.Process flow

As shown in following figure, after flue gas off-gas is collected, it will go through the dust catcher for dust removal and then flow through scrubber, desulfurization tower, absorption tower and desorption tower in succession. The scrubber and desulfurization tower are filled with packing and equipped with circulation system, which is mainly for removal of impurities soluble in water and SO2 from the off-gas. A kind of chemical complex solution specifically developed for abovementioned gas sources is stored in the absorption tower, which enables the feed gas to have sufficient contact with solution in the absorption tower, where CO2 is absorbed by reaction and then heated up and desorbed in the desorption tower to emit CO2 with concentration higher than 96%. CO2 is compressed to 1.6~2.0 Mpa by two-stage CO2 oil-free lubrication compressor before it is sent to the adsorption tower. To ensure stable operations of the CO2 compressor, an air bag is arranged between the water scrubber and CO2 compressor. The compressed gas is purified by adsorption tower and drying tower. Afterwards, the purified CO2 is condensed to -18℃ liquid in CO2 condenser; Cold source of the condenser is supplied by refrigerating unit. Liquid carbon dioxide is sent to the storage tank for storage. In case of user’s demand of CO2, liquid carbon dioxide will be heated up by vaporizer at steady pressure and changed to gaseous carbon dioxide, which will be depressurized to user’s desired pressure via reducing valve for user’s utilization.

3.System components: the system is composed of dust catcher, scrubber, desulfurization tower, absorption tower, adsorption tower, desorption tower, cooler, gas storage bag, compressor, drying and liquefaction system and liquid storage tank.

Fermentation gas normally refers to high concentration CO2 off-gas emitted by brewery, alcohol plant, sugar refinery and other fermentation systems. Generally, the fermentation gas contains 93%~99% CO2 as well as impurities like alcohols, aldehydes, methane, hydrogen, nitrogen, water vapor and etc. and may contain small quantities of NO and greases.
