The Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group (PHRMG) is the
first Palestinian human rights organisation to launch its
web pages in Arabic. The PHRMG has long been in the for
front of using the Internet as a tool in the struggle for
human rights. The web pages are regularly updated, and
contain extensive information on the human rights issues of
Palestine. The PHRMG Monitor, the PHRMG bi monthly human
rights magazine, is available in their entirety as downloads
from the web pages. These services are now available, in
Arabic, on http://www.phrmg.org
Recent publications of the Monitor includes reports on the
media’s situation under the PNA. How the PNA infringes on
the academic freedom of Palestinian universities. The latest
publication is the PHRMG Annual Report, a comprehensive
report on the status of human rights in Palestine. Upcoming
issues of the monitor will include reports on terrorist
attacks on Palestinians by Israelis, and the Israeli police
force reluctance to find the guilty. The incidents on
Birzeit University following the French Prime Minister Mr.
Jospin, is also reported in an upcoming issue of the
Monitor. All these reports, in Arabic, are now just a few
clicks away on The PHRMG website.
The PHRMG is a Palestinian, independent non-governmental
organization working to end human rights violations
committed against Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip,
and East Jerusalem, regardless of who is responsible. The
members of the Monitoring Group believe that the strength of
democracy and civil society in Palestinian life will be
determined by the Palestinian people through their defense
or neglect of human rights.
