Warns of
Israel's Escalating Assassination Policy Against Palestinians
Israel continues
to follow an extremely dangerous and racist policy
characterized by killing and exterminating Palestinians in
cold blood, disregarding all charters and laws.
A special Israeli commando unit
killed the two Awadallah brothers, Imad and 'Adel, on the
night of 10 September, 1998, near the village of Tarqumia in
Hebron.
This Israeli policy of assassination
of Palestinians is considered a blatant violation of
Palestinian human rights, as stated forth in the Fourth
Geneva Convention to protect and defend human rights.
According to the PHRMG, the timing of
this crime, which coincides with the meetings of Dennis
Ross, the American special envoy representative, with
Palestinian and Israeli officials to revive the peace
process and lift the deadlock, raises a big question mark
about Israel's seriousness, and especially Netanyahu's
government, in rescuing the peace process.
The PHRMG condemns these political
assassinations committed by Israel against Palestinians
every now and then, and warns of their escalation and
danger. Furthermore, these assassinations contribute to the
increase of depression among Palestinians who suffer from
the policy of violence and counter violence.
The PHRMG calls for all concerned
parties to adopt peaceful dialogue and objective judgement,
and stresses the importance of the Israeli government's
commitment to respect Palestinian human rights, that is
universally adopted, and abandon the policy that ignites the
Palestinian people in these dire times.
The PHRMG demands the Israeli
government hand over the victims' bodies to their families.
