Misfortunate Rafah

12) Recommendations

* To the International Community:

1- Parties that have signed and ratified the Geneva Conventions on human rights, international NGOs, and legal organizations must prosecute the Israeli officials who issued orders to the Israeli army to demolish Palestinian houses in Rafah District.  Those actions represented war crimes that must not be allowed to pass without proper punishment.

2- Pressure must be exercised to the extreme limit on the Israeli government to maintain and respect human rights norms.  The Occupying Power (Israel) is obliged to provide protection to Palestinian civilians in the Occupied Territories.

3- Further aid and assistance is needed for the Palestinian families that lost their homes in Rafah District, and other Palestinian areas.  The international community must prosecute the Israeli government and demand compensations for the destruction of many infrastructure projects in the Occupied Territories, that were funded by the international community and were destroyed by the Israeli army in the recent months.
